I’m not great with computers, do I have to study online?
You don’t need to be an IT expert; if you can log on to something, watch some videos online, and download the odd document, that’s all there is to it. We’ve also got a team of support people waiting to help you if you have any difficulties. To deliver this course face-to-face in a training room with the same level of detail we include would cost far more than studying it online. And it would also involve you travelling and being away from the business several days. You cannot mess things up with our system. It’s easy and quick to use.
I run a pub so I’m very busy. When can I fit this in?
This course only needs you to spend 15-20 minutes a day. At any time you can pause your learning or do additional learning at a time that suits you, 24/7 flexibility. There’s no attendance of any face-to-face training sessions, and you have a full year in which to complete the course, although we recommend you aim to finish it in 8-10 weeks.

Do I have to take an exam at the end of this?
Yes - there is a multiple choice exam at the end of the course which leads to a Level 3 Endorsed Award from QUALIFI, an OFQUAL regulated Awarding Organisation. However, the main purpose of this course is to provide you with a real insight into what’s happening in the UK pub dining sector, and then help you produce an action plan of what you’re going to do on basic business planning, choosing your menu dishes, and marketing your new food offer.
I don’t have a kitchen at the pub. Is this course any use to me?
You don’t need a kitchen to deliver a simple food offer, you can do back bar food or a simple food offer in a small area near the bar, using just a microwave. This course will help guide you to set up an appropriate food offer for your pub.
