Course overview

The Fire Safety Awareness CPD unit provides an introductory, awareness-level understanding of workplace fire safety. The course equips learners with the knowledge, confidence, and awareness needed to identify fire hazards, prevent incidents, and respond safely and effectively during emergencies.

Learners will explore how fires start and spread, legal responsibilities under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, and the roles of the responsible person, fire marshals, and staff. The course also covers fire risk assessment, extinguisher use, evacuation procedures, and ongoing preparedness through training and drills.

By the end of the unit, candidates will understand their responsibilities and the actions required to maintain a safe workplace, supporting a culture of prevention and readiness.
